I saw a fruit basket where they cut pineapples to look like flowers and put them on sticks, and strawberries on sticks and they arrange the fruits on these sticks to look like a flowers. Kinda of hard to explain. If you know what I'm talking about, do you know where I could order one? Having trouble finding it online.
Thank you!

I'm doing my own flowers, need advice...?
We are on a strict budget for our wedding and based on the quotes I've been told, we can't afford a florist. A friend of my Mother told us that we should buy real flowers in bulk online and just do the arrangements ourselves. (that's what they did at her daughters wedding) I love the idea, especially since we aren't doing that many decorations. My fiancee is afraid real flowers will be too much work since we have to care for them overnight. My question is, for those who did their own flowers, how do I know how much to order? Whether I go with silk or real I don't want to overbuy. I do have a floral book that I'm getting ideas from. Also, If it ends up being easier can I mixed silk flowers with real, or is that tacky? The bouquets and stuff will be real. Any advice would be a great help!
I'm doing my own flowers, need advice...?
I only wish I had $5000 to spend on MY wedding! I'm planning an outdoor wedding for May '07 and have done all my own florals with silks. I wouldn't mix fresh and silks either. Doing your own isn't that hard and will save you alot in the end. I bought my silks from several different places, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Dollar General and Dollar Tree. Hobby Lobby will usually have their stems on sale one week and their bunches on sale the next, both at half price. They have some beautiful silks to choose from. If you choose to buy on an off week then they always have a coupon you can use to save 40%. I bought my bouquet holder from Hobby Lobby on a week when they had all their wedding stuff for half off. Choose whatever florals you want to use and all you have to do is cut them and begin placing them in the styrofoam holder, then when you're satisfied with the look, finish it off by wrapping coordinating ribbons around the handle and then looping them thru the hole on the end to have some hanging off. You can go to multiple websites online and print off step by step directions on how to do your own, just do a search on how to.
I also made all the corsages and boutineers too, plus decorations to use thruout the wedding. I'm also decorating an arbor with tulle, red heart lights and silk garlands that will coordinate with my bridal flowers.
If I can do it, anyone can! Just have a hot glue gun, wire cutters, some wire, floral tape and a little confidence in yourself!!
Best wishes for beautiful flowers and a happy life!
Reply:I am not sure what your budget is (I have worked with very small before though) there are a few good options for silks. Dont do real because to keep them from wilting you should refrigerate them overnight and that could take alot of room up in your fridge.
Silks have come a LONG way since their conception, and you can get silks now that are almost impossible to tell from the real thing. Just be sure you get good quality.
I know a few silk florists (online) that work with budgets. If you would like their info email me.
EDIT: You can get good quality silks for less than 300, email me and I will help you cut costs if you like (For FREE). You can have a GREAT wedding on a $5000 budget (or less!)
Reply:If there is anyway you can squeeze any money out of your budget for at least your bouquet, I would highly recommend it. You say you have a book you are looking at, then look at the arm bouquets for your attendants. These would be the easiest for a novice. You really should have a florist do these also. You could choose rather inexpensive flowers, with a flashy bow with streamers. The boutonnieres and corsages you could do in silk, in advance. Check with the church about altar flowers. Some require them. I wish I had more time to help you out more,
Reply:If you have never done flower work before it isnt as easy as it looks.
Silk flowers are tacky , in my opinion for a wedding.
If you are really on a tight budget my suggestion is this. For your Bridal bouquet have what is known as an arm bouquet.Simply put a few stems of fresh flowers tied with ribbon. They can be kept over night in a vase of water, they dont need to be refridgerated if kept cool.same with your bridesmaids.
Bouts. and coursages have made by a florist. They can be kept in the fridge over night. Limit who gets them.
Buying flowers online that are mailed can be a huge mistake if you have never dealt with the company before.Your flowers may be damaged or your shipment late.
If you have a Costco in your area they sell mixed bouquets of flowers in the store they now also sell wedding packages online. The people that provide this service are usually wholsale growers in your area. Look at their packages online.
You can also pre order flowers from the store in some areas talk to the manager.
Reply:I wouldn't mix real and silk. Not in the same bouquet, at least. You could give your maid/matron of honor a real bouquet, and give the rest of your girls silk, though. As far as overordering, if you find silks online or whatever that you like, buy just one or 2 bushes. Chances are you local WalMart/Hobby Lobby/Michael's has the same thing for half the price. Also, I know that MOST Hobby Lobby stores have someone who designs silk bouquets. Not sure on pricing, but if you have one near you it might be worth the time to check it out. You could also google silk wedding bouquets. Most places where you order the full bouquets you can pick the type/color of flower to be used.
Reply:For decoration I only use artificial flowers, life flowers are only for bouquet boutonniere etc. sometimes people use real flower for centerpieces, which is OK and usually doesn't cost as much. Sure if you can do your own arrangement to look like the ones you see in the magazine, feel free to do so.
Yes my florist did say it is a lot of work to keep your flowers fresh for the event and it will cost you utility bills too I think, because you might not have time to arrange the flowers the day before the wedding right? means you will buy them 2 or 3 days prior then arrange them then store them with the right temperature etc..

HELP, I am trying to find a certain a online store that sells doll clothes and shoes, ect.?
I saw this store about 3 weeks ago and am trying to find it again. It lets you chose the material you want for the dress, the kind of socks/tights you want, the shoes you want, the hat you want, and a basket of flowers. i thought it was dress your doll, or dress a doll, but it isn"t either of them. you can buy the items separately or you can customize. I've already chosen the way i want it, and now i can't find it. thanks for your help.

Do you want to try e-bay instead?

this is a very good company, I get all of my needed supplies from them, stringing materials, paints to underwear to shoes and socks plus wigs and doll stands. I have used them for 10 years. Its best to list out what you want first, since I believe there is a 25.00 start to order

Flowers for my garden.?
Does anyone know of an online sight to buy flowers for my garden? I would love to buy some that are already growing.....not seeds.
Flowers for my garden.?
Some places carry both - but looking at my wish list, I see plants from: Heron, Miller, Select Seeds, Bluestone, McClure, and White Flower. Just browse them under ___ Nursery for the website. It is getting a little late to order plants in some areas, since they will not mail them once it gets too warm in your area, but it depends if they have any left and if they are the right size or form to send to you.
Reply:There are many online sources available. Some of my favorites are:
Breck's

Wayside Gardens

Springhill

I've always received good service from them and any problems have been resolved quickly.
Good luck 'n happy gardening!

Any ideas as to how many flowers I need to order if i am doing my own flowers for my wedding? Like how many?
flowers do I need per bouquet? I just want roses only. I have 7 bridesmaids...and will have 2 or 3 long tables long enough to sit 175 people...so with this in mind how many flowers....and how much greenery do u suggest? Also where is the best place to order these online??? TIA!!!
Any ideas as to how many flowers I need to order if i am doing my own flowers for my wedding? Like how many?
Look at a website called 2G Roses. They have a great wedding package and instructions about how many flowers, greenery, etc. that it takes to make up different types of bouquets, coursages, table arrangements, etc. Their prices are really good and their roses are beautiful!
Good luck to you!
Reply:According to my book, The DIY Wedding, The general rule is 18 - 24 stems per table arrangement or bridesmaid bouquet (10-12 for smaller bridesmaid bouquet), Twenty stems for bride's bouquet. Boutonnieres and corsages are one to three blooms, corsages are three to five and one bunch of green per three to four arrangements. This book also gives step by step directions for making different styles of bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and centerpieces so it might be useful to you. The author is Kelly Bare. Hope this helps.
Reply:dont forget corsages and boutineers.

On Gaia Online, How do you get stuff from the GaiaTowns?
Like when you go into the gaia town and pick up trash and flowers, and bugs.
HOW DO YOU GET THEM!? loll
Its rather frustrating. :]]
Mucho help please.
On Gaia Online, How do you get stuff from the GaiaTowns?
In the bottom right hand corner you should see a red backpack icon labeled 'Items'.
Click it then click the robot that appears. He will ask you if you'd like to transfer your items to your inventory. Click yes, and the items will disappear from your backpack and reappear in your inventory.
If you'd like, add me on my account: Psykotique. ;3

Why is sending flowers so ridiculously expensive?
I wanted to send flowers to my crush at his job. I looked online and geez...Why on Earth is it so pricey? I just wanted to send 1 rose and it costs $50? Does anyone know what I can do for a reasonable price?
Why is sending flowers so ridiculously expensive?
Because flowers are a big business and get used for tons of things. I would not send flowers over the internet again not only because of the price but also because you have no control of the handling or the quality of the flowers selected.
I sent my wife a dozen roses for Valentines Day. They were delivered at 9 am and sat on her company's loading dock for a couple of hours with no water. When she got them at 2 pm they were beat up and wilted. I was pissed. I called the company and got my money back.
The best flowers are available from a local florist. Next year I'm hand delivering them myself.
Reply:because people in love are crazy
and the florist takes advantage of that
Reply:its so pricey bc they know ppl will spend the money to say i love you or to send to a funeral or wedding.
Theres one thing I told my husband when we got married.. dont buy me real flowers.. buy me silk ones or ones made out of diff materials.. when he asked me why i said,, well they are cheaper and THEY NEVER DIE! well he saw my point and buys me silk flowers instead of real ones..
Reply:Because the florists know women adore flowers and that is what men are desperately wanting to do to woo their desired women. It's a ripe off!
Reply:Three reasons: gas prices, fragile merchandise, fast expiration. It's easy to ship a box of ink pens, it's harder to ship something that can't be tossed on a truck in a closed box and shipped over the span of a few days.

What is a good gift to give for a online romance?
I am having this online romance with this guy, and I know eventually he will want to send me flowers or some kind of gift. I don't want to give him my address so what is the best way for me to get a gift from someone online without giving my address.
What is a good gift to give for a online romance?
Tell him you accept Paypal donations.
Reply:well, you could give the address of the establishment you are studying in or the place you are working at and just ask him t address it to you.....but if its a secret romance and you dont want publicity, you could always make arrangements with your local post office, ask him to send it to the post office with your name on it and a special code that the post office will provide you and you can collect it from there later.....thats what we do in my country anyway......
Reply:why not give him your address? if your worried that he's some kind of crazed psycho then you probably shouldn't be talking to him of persuing a 'relationship' with him....
just sayin...
Reply:an e card or a poem written by you emailed by you
Reply:Get a P.O. Box
Reply:if you dont trust him enough to give him your address (and you PROBABLY shouldnt), then theres no need for you two to send gifts back and forth. meet him in person first, in a safe and very public space. good luck
Reply:Have him send you an email car. You do really need to meet and do this in a public place so you can see if he's ok and you can then go from there. I have found that you really need to meet soon and not just play online. In person is always best you just need to be careful. Good luck
Reply:An online gift certificate that you can use to go get the flowers (or anything else) yourself.
Reply:How about your picture?

i think you can give them oil painting from their photo means turn their photo in oil painting it will create nice impression on them.
Capture that special moment.turn it into a masterpiece that will last forever!
i suggest u to look at this site i think it will help u,

A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.
Check out this site: http://www.portrait2000.com
The prices are reasonable and the outcome is amazing.

If you are having doubts about this person having your address Maybe you should re-think the status of your realtionship, with this person!!

when you place your orer, make sure to make it from anonymous so they won't know who sent them...

I am looking to send flowers to someone... this is a somewhat odd request. Black or nearly black roses?
I know there has to be some types of roses that are so dark red they almost look black. This is what I'm looking for. How can I find them online to send them to someone? Where can I find them? Everywhere I look it's all artificial roses and I really want real ones...
I am looking to send flowers to someone... this is a somewhat odd request. Black or nearly black roses?
I googled it and found this company that lists them:
http://www.2dozenroses.com/index.php?mai...
What I would do is email or call online florists and ask them, just because they don't list them doesn't mean they can't get or make them. Maybe try 1-800-flowers too. They can either send fresh ones like these that are very dark red, or they can also use special floral spray paint or dye to turn regular roses black. Should not be that hard to find one to do it.
Good luck
Reply:This variety is called "Black Boy Rose" it is a large deep Burgundy/black rose with an amazing scent, difficult to get these days, ask florists if they can get any in for you, they will be expensive.
Reply:Flowers.com should be able to handle this--roses do come in very dark colors approaching black. Or you can try this site:
http://www.sendblackroses.com/catalog.ph...
Reply:I couldn't find anywhere that had real ones, but the ones at the link below are made of feathers and are gorgeous. Hope it helps a bit. ☺
Reply:The Black Rose Floral Co. may have what you are looking for.

Where can i get a cheap wedding bouqet for 2 weeks time online?
HI i'm a florist, and the best thing to do, is go to your local florist thats NOT interflora,or teleflorist [these bigger ones usually have set charges] and they will help you, you usually get better service and more discount by going to the smaller ones.
Reply:How about ebay? Good luck!

Reply:Just go to your nearest florist. Seriously. You'll get a better deal.

Reply:Ebay, I did a hell of a lot of wedding stuff on ebay. Sounds tacky but if you shop wisely it neednt be! The good thing with ebay is that there will be a lot of custom made stuff out there. People working from home that have everything ready and just put it all together as you want it.
I got my flowers off ebay, they were silk (that way you can keep em) and they were gorgeous.
Good luck! :)
Reply:Believe it or not, Costco sells beautiful, affordable flowers online. I'm not sure how long it takes but I would think you could speed up the process and pick your oder up from one of their stores. http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.as...
Reply:If you want online-- use ebay-- type in wedding bouquet; as long as you realize there artificial flowers... I used Heavenly Scent Silks-- this auction is for a different color, but as they say (and do) request a different color scheme. Or go to an arts and crafts store (AC Moore, Michaels), they have a deal, you buy the flowers, they assemble them (sometimes a nominal charge)
GOOD LUCK!!

Reply:Go to Michael's, AC Moore, one of those craft stores... and check out their flowers. For my best friend's wedding, we were able to find silk white rose bouquets (already assembled!) at Michael's for around $7 each. Then we bought some pink roses and placed them in the bouquet as well. We also bought pink, satin ribbon to wrap around the base of the bouquet and sheer pink ribbon to hang down (hint, about 24-48 hours before the wedding, tie the ribbon hanging down in loose knots, it will cause them to curl). Each bouquet probably about about $15-18 in it and they were nice size. We added more pink flowers and more ribbon to her (the brides) bouquet.

Has anyone ever used an online wholesale flower company for wedding?
I am looking at growersbox.com and am wondering if anyone has used them or another company like it and what you thought.

I know people that have gotten them from there and they were so beautiful. If you do get them cut the stems as soon as they arive put them in water and in a cool place so they won't die.
Best of luck to you.

I was a wedding photographer. I never saw a wedding that came off without a hitch.
Reply:Go local. That way you have some kind of recourse. Unfortunately with the online stores, you can be SOOL when the order is wrong or even a no-show.
Many local produce and even grocery stores will handle wholesale flowers for you and include delivery for a very reasonable fee. I'm in MI and had fantastic luck with Horrocks.

Reply:ive ordered flowers from proflowers pretty expensive to do a whole wedding but they usually come fresh from online places
Reply:I reccommend www.freshroses.com. I have never heard one complaint and tons of satisified brides.
Order the flowers two or three days beforehand so they have time to open up. Follow the directions they send and make sure you keep them in a cool place with plenty of water, preferably out of direct sunlight.
Reply:i havent, but i dont know if i would trust an online place like that. you never know what youre gittin. so you could go pay all this money and then end up with sh*t.

What grabs your attention when ordering flowers, color, design, what?
Ive ask that question because I am a florist and this shop has experience growth this past year.
We want to stand out in the floral industry. We offer already other free services that other shops dont offer. Such as pictures of their arrangement or gifts sent to their emails , so they can enjoy the gifts as well. This has really made a difference with our customers. Some of our customers have said they stop ordering online because they were recieving products that just wasnt what they ordered.
What grabs your attention when ordering flowers, color, design, what?
My main thing when ordering flowers is the color selection. I like deep, rich colors like pumpkin orange, chocolate brown, blood red, etc. Like fall colors, mostly.
Reply:i look for something more interesting than just flowers. a decorative vase that can be used again. maybe river rocks and twigs that can be saved after the flowers die. beautiful ribbons and bows. oh--and i hate those generic business card size greetings that come on the arangement. people will spend $50 for a nice arangement, and then they cheap out on the card! i wish there were classier choices in this area.
i really enjoy progressive, trendy looks, almost a japanese style, a feeling or emotion should be conveyed through flower arangements.

Is anyone familiar with an impressionist painting composed of flowers being sold by a street vendor?
I saw this painting at an exhibit at the Denver Art Museum a few years ago and was struck by the symbolism. I do not know who the artist was and have been unable to find it anywhere online. I would really like to know the artist.
Is anyone familiar with an impressionist painting composed of flowers being sold by a street vendor?
I think it is Avenue of the Street Vendor by H. Claude Pissarro. Here is a picture of it so you can see if it's the same one: http://www.art-exchange.com/art-exchange...
I hope that's it!

Do you doodle (old fashioned way with pen and paper, not online)? What is it that?
you draw? Is it the same thing repeatedly, a creative mural on your page, words and symbols? When do you find that you doodle most, and why do you think you do it?
For me, I doodle mostly geometric designs, usually very symetrical. Sometimes flowers, but mostly just lines and angles and shading. Why these? Likely because I find them least revealing (in case anyone in the meeting is peeking). Why doodle at all? I think it's because I'm bored. I could go off into a daydream, but would lose track of the real meeting or class lecture. So, I doodle and listen at the same time, and it's enough to make the time pass.
How about you?
Do you doodle (old fashioned way with pen and paper, not online)? What is it that?
Hi Cats!
I don't doodle at all. Not sure why but I know it gets under my skin when someone doodles on my materials; like my personal phone book, my notebooks, my calender, or even my grocery list. Sounds kind of territorial doesn't it?
What is funny though, is when I give my name and address over the phone, I also write it down. LOL
I do a lot of writing by hand, even when I do my letters for work, I write it all down, cross out, redo, etc.,then I go and type it. I much prefer it to typing. So I guess I am more of a writer than a doodler? (shrug)
I never thought about it before, I wonder if it "says" something about my personality?
Reply:What do I doodle?..
Most of the time at work when I am on a phone conversation and am feeling a bit bored, frusterated, or goofy.. I doodle a face.. two big goofy egg shaped eyes next to each other.. then a smaller sized on the side egg shape nose.. and then the mouth.. which is either a big smiley.. or a zig-zag mark depending on my mood of the conversation.. kind of like a porttait of whomever I am speaking to and how I felt about the conversation....
But I sometimes doodle flowers too.. just the tranquil loops to make the petals is soothing...
Why..? I dunno??.. It's an unconscience thought while I am doing it... it just happens..
Reply:yes, the geometric designs come up quite often: frequently it's a five or six-pointed star. sometimes a border around the outside of a page consisting of a series of figures.
i also do it absent-mindedly, usually without being aware of it. i'm aware that i have pen and paper, but i am not paying attention to WHAT i am doodling until i look down and see.
i don't have the ready access to pen and paper YOU do, but if i do, it's MY version of chewing gum or smoking: something to occupy myself for a while...
Reply:Lines.
Parallel lines.
Short ones, long ones. End to end. More below them.
Hard to describe, but they end up with paths through them, like a maze.
Whole sheets of them when on the phone.
Reply:Mostly on the phone. I tend to write down things that we're talking about - just little snippets - or a date or my name and put boxes around them. Otherwise, I start with a box and start dividing it with lines going through the center. I was told once that the box is an attempt to control things. Who really knows? I just use it like you do - so that I am still listening.

Reply:Usually when I'm on the phone I doodle or when I'm trying to think up a new slogan for a promotion. I draw round and circular sketches mainly but sometimes I will also draw sharp or jagged doodles, I think it depends on my mood really. Some how doodling allows me to express how I'm feeling without having to say anything.
Reply:When I doodle it is normally squares of equal size, done without taking the pen off the paper.
I draw the first one, and then each subsequent one has to be adjacent to to a previous one, using at least one side of a previous square as one of the new squares sides.
It's sort of a game I play with myself, to see how many squares I can draw in this manner - I am not allowed to retrace over a line, so it is possible to get boxed in and unable to make another move.
Of course, theoretically it is possible to keep going forever- but when you're only giving it a small amount of your attention whilst talking on the phone, sat in a meeting or whatever, it is surprisingly easy to make a mistake and find the game is over lol
Why do I do this? To pass time and relieve boredom a little I guess.
It is something I have done since I was a kid, and when I look back at my old school books etc, I can find pages full of these little squares and sometimes wonder what it was the teacher was boring me with so much that particular day lol
Reply:Yep i love doodling, i come from quite an artistic background, i love to use pen and pencil, mostly asymmetric curvey shapes, its just a way of expressing my art and stress.
Reply:I like seeing my subconcious thoughts in pictures. Doodling relaxes me. I usually draw clouds.

I have a general question? Would you have an interest in an Online Floral Wholesaler,?
By online Wholesaler, I mean, either Sell Loose Stemmed Flowers, Design by your pictures or ideas, All Occasions, Weddings? Birthdays? Mother Day? Father Day? and more?
What if Roses were as low as 11.99 for a dozen? Shipped overnight, double boxed with 100 Guarantee? What would you say?
I have a general question? Would you have an interest in an Online Floral Wholesaler,?
Interesting idea. I live in San Antonio, which has about half a dozen wholesale florists, and too many retailers to count. Plus, most of the major grocery chains carry flowers, loose and arranged. But there might be a market for something like that in small towns where people don't have such easy access to florists. One thing that might hurt you is the shipping fees. To my knowledge, the only reliable overnight shipper is FedEx and they are expensive. Another is competition from companies like FTD and 1-800-Flowers. They're also expensive but they're established. If this is a dream of yours, I certainly don't want to put a damper on it, but you do have some things to think about. Good luck with whatever you decide.

But if you "want to buy", then I guess you're no struggling artist and are in a better place than I.

Our daughters 6 yrs old, quite small.

go to ebay.
My cousin is getting married in June and she bought all of her dresses on ebay for next to nothing. From bridesmaid, flower girl, wedding, to all the mens tuxes.
Reply:BHS has some lovely dresses or Debenhams but they're usually over £60 depends how much you're wanting to spend.
There is also Reeta's shop up at The Gallowgate in fact I think there used to be a woman at the Barras that did bridesmaids/christening/first communion dresses.
I got my bridesmaid's dress in Panache in Stockwell Street and it was reasonably priced. Angelique Lamont in Howard Street sometime's sell of their bridesmaid's dresses so that's worth a look too.

The best places to buy "fancy dresses" that can be worn as Flower Girl dresses is all the dress stores and department stores that have carry "holiday dresses" for little girls. All of these dresses are dramatically reduced after the "Christmas holiday" to make room for spring clothes.
You will not get this opportunity again until the spring-summer clothes are cleared out for fall clothes.
Try to avoid buying your daughter's dress in a bridal shop. Have you considered having one made? A friend who sews or check your local newspaper for "dressmaker."

Ladies, would you be upset if you didn't get any flowers for Valentines Day?
I mean they jack-up the prices for flowers on that day. And I find it rather cumbersome to get them. The florists usually run out and if you order them online, you are not gaurenteed you will like what you see.
I just rather get flowers on another day.
What do you think?
And what do you expect on Valentines Day?
Ladies, would you be upset if you didn't get any flowers for Valentines Day?
I'm more impressed by a thoughtful gift. Everyone does flowers, they are too easy. You could take the money you'd spend on flowers and buy food that you cook for her, or downloads on itunes, or any other thing that you know she'll love. And yes, I agree that flowers are cumbersome. They also die. There are much better gifts out there.
Reply:No, but I am not a "flower" person and my husband knows it.
For me, flowers are either for dead people or trying to buy me off to keep from getting in the doghouse. I agree with you that florist jack up the prices and you don't get what you pay for.
I would much prefer that my husband hand pick me some wildflowers, or buy me a plant at the nursery that we can plant in the yard. If your wife/gf has a flower garden, why not surprise her by going this route and buying her a rose bush in a pot to plant. If she doesn't have a yard, then maybe a pretty potted plant for either the patio or indoors. If you know that she doesn't have a green thumb or is allergic to live plants, then maybe something else either for the home or personal, such as cologne, lingerie, or jewelry.
That, a card, and maybe a romantic dinner should do the trick, and hopefully you will get points for originality.
Reply:A kiss and an "I love you."

Reply:No,because you;re right. They jack up the prices. I expect a some QT. I don't care about all that other stuff. Well, some chocolate covered strawberries would be nice... :)
Reply:Not at all!! flowers just die anyways! haha do something sweet for her instead. buy her a thoughtful gift with that 50 or 60 bucks it would cost to get her flowers!
Reply:To be honest, I would rather have a heart felt love letter or poem written to me. That would mean so much more than a bouquet of flowers that will die in a week anyways.
I wouldn't be upset if I didn't get flowers, but I would be upset if I got nothing at all.
Reply:You should come up with something on valentines day. You can't wait for the sales. If you care about your gal you willl honor her on the day that was designed to do so. I know it is like robbery but flowers are not the only option.. Just go and buy her a watch or something I am sure you can manage for under 20 bucks.. she will be very happy to know you care that much.
Reply:Flowers are nice but you could use the money and get something that wont be gone in a week. Id rather get something I know he thought about. I know if I get flowers he ran outta time and went to the store grabbed flowers and came home.
Reply:I'm not a lady...but I usually give another present rather than flower. I just give chocolate with the hand-written card or something...
Reply:Yeah they do jack up the prices, but it would be nice to receive flowers I am one of those that goes all and expect the same so if I don't get flowers I will be a little upset
Reply:Are you all joking me? I dont buy it for a second that some of you "arent flower kinda girls"... BULL...you know what. Every girl loves getting flowers, and if youre the kinda girl that says to your man when he gets you flowers, "Ew, these are just for dead people" or "Flowers are SO cheesy" or "ugh, these are just going to DIE" ... then WOW. Wake up everyone, a real lady loves flowers and accepts them graciously... what the heck happened to knights in shining armor with an arm full of roses... siiiiiiiiiigh.... I would give anything for a big bouquet of flowers today... TRUE GENTLEMEN OUT THERE: trust me, its amazing what a little cut perennial can do to a TRUE lady...

Has anyone ordered bridal flowers from Costco?
They have complete sets for the entire wedding party for less than $500.00 delivered to your home. I called them, their rep said it looks just the the photos online. If you've ordered flowers from them or Sams club was it worth it? Did you save $money? Thank you
Has anyone ordered bridal flowers from Costco?
My neighbor's daughter had her flowers from Sam's Club and they looked amazing! She used white roses and blue hydrangea's. She saved a ton of money and they really did look amazing.
The only thing was they were not premade arrangements she and her mother had to make them.
Reply:My sister did she said they were such a good deal compared to the local florist and they looked amazing at the wedding...
and they good quality too
i think they had some artifical ones too but im not sure
Reply:We are getting ours from Costco, my fiance works there and we have guaranteed that they look perfect! There flowers are great quality, go for it!!
Reply:ooh i did!!! my sister bought my wedding flowers from costco and then made my bouquets for me! so it cost me around $300 for the flowers...and everyone said how HUGE my boquet was...my bridesmaid boquets were bigger then most normal brides are!!
you can order the flowers you want ahead of time and then they arrive fresh for you..
*my sister used to be a flowrist so she figured out the cost of what it would have been if i bought the flowers from a florist and it would have been over $2000 in flowers!! so ya go with costco- i honestly recomment it!!!

I want have get well flowers delivered to a friend in Italy on Dec 12 but am on a tight budget, suggestions?
My friend lives in Milan and is going in for some minor surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 12th. I would like to have flowers delivered, but all the florists I've searched online are extremely expensive, and I just can't afford that. I just want something small and simple, and under $30. And more than just one single rose. :-P I'd appreciate some suggestions or ideas. Thanks! :-)
I want have get well flowers delivered to a friend in Italy on Dec 12 but am on a tight budget, suggestions?
This is a link for Interflora, the most renowned and reliable here in Italy (where there are a lot of honest persons...!!!)
hhttp://www.interflora.co.uk/catalog/cate... .
They have 2 items at US$ 37,50 that's not too far from yr budget.
Be aware that in Italian hospitals if the patient is a married female she is registered under her maiden name.
I hope this helps.
Reply:For $30 you are going to get very little...Why don't you just send a card or call them? You won't be able to control the quality - Europe is not like the USA, especially Italy. EDIT: Regarding the answer below me ... those prices are in British Pounds, NOT U.S. Dollars. That would make those selections about $73 bucks. Need I say more?

Where can I find great plus-size clothing online?
I'm looking for cute tops, capris that fit like capris (I'm kind of short so capris look more like high waters than capris!) and other cute clothes that don't have ugly designs, such as big flowers and polka-dots. Any suggestions? And yes, I tried Lane Bryant, they just didn't do it for me.
Thanks!

I need wedding flowers!!?
Florists are to expensive, does anyone know of a good online flower wholesaler? Would costco be a good choice. The wedding is in August and I want Calla lillies, Roses, and Carnations. Thanks for you help!
I need wedding flowers!!?
when my girls got married..we used good quality silks
Reply:If you have until August, might I suggest visiting a nursery (there are lots online that will ship to your home if you don't have one locally). You can buy the bulbs/seeds rather inexpensively and actually grow your own wedding flowers. I know this will be a little bit of work, but the cost is only a fraction of what you would pay a florist, and it's kind of cool to carry a bouquet that you grew yourself.
Reply:costco has pretty flowers
Reply:I am an event coordinator and have used Costco for many of my events. They are a very dependable source. You can go in and order a sample of the flowers that you want. Go to your local Costco and ask for someone in the flower department to help you out.

The flowers I bought (off white roses, blue hydrangeas and delphinium) came to about $800 for just those. My bro bought vases from Goodwill at about a buck apiece for 15 centerpieces. I got ribbon, wire and other decorative bits and accessories from Michael's and eBay. I think total I spent about $900 for 15 centerpieces, two buffet vases, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, my bouquet, 4 corsages and 5 boutonnieres. And I had extra flowers left over.
My flowers were gorgeous. You can see them here: http://web.mac.com/kokorophotography/Kok...
If you scroll through the album you can see the others sort of. I thought this was the best picture of how the bouquets I made came out.

Reply:I wouldn't have thought of Costco. Where do you live? It's a little hard to help without knowing that. If you're anywhere near Los Angeles, they have a huge wholesale flower district downtown. If you're not in a large city, you can still check out downtown areas of major cities nearby and see if they have this. Also, do you have farmer's markets around you? Really fresh %26amp; inexpensive.

Greenery flowers?
Can anybody tell me where I can find online pictures of flowers that I can look up. My mother passed away in Jan. and there was a plant that I brought home and I don't have a clue what it is. I am not sure how to take care of it.I've been watering it and it still is thriving.I thought it might have been a corn plant, but I am not sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thank you.
Greenery flowers?
First do a google images search for a corn plant to see if that's what it is. If not, try a regular search for popular houseplants and see if it's there!
Reply:My guess - spathiphyllum or Peace Lily. That is a common funeral plant and they are pretty easy to grow. I have one from each of my grandparent's funerals.

Do I prune balloon flowers?
I have a balloon flower and I don't know if i'm supposed to prune it, pick the dead flowers off or just leave it alone. I've looked online but found nothing. I have been clipping the dead flower off, and some white milky stuff comes out of the end. I've done this for a week or so, but now the new buds are starting to die before they even open. Please help!!
Do I prune balloon flowers?
Balloon flower has little in the way of diseases or insect problems. They do not tolerate wet soils. This can cause root rot. So let your balloon flower dry between waterings. Use your fingure to check the soil moisture. When the top 2-3" of soil is dry, but moist below that level, then water.
You can deadhead to extend bloom period. You can also pinch back this plant in early spring to produce a more compact and bushy plant.
There is an insect that can feed on the leaves %26amp; unopened flower buds of Balloon flower. They tend to be more of a problem in greenhouses than in people's yards. This insect is known as the Western Flower Thrip. WFT's small size (1/16 inch) and tendency to remain hidden in flower buds makes it difficult to detect the thrips before severe feeding damage is evident. You can tap the flowers/foliage over a white sheet of paper to look for slender, winged insects. Thrips feed by piercing plant cells with their mouthparts and feeding on the exuded plant juices. This collapse of plant cells may result in deformed flowers, leaves and shoots. Silvery flecked scars or small black "fecal" spots may be seen on the expanded leaves. Here are some pics of thrips: http://www.hort.uconn.edu/ipm/greenhs/ht...
You can control with insecticidal soap.
Reply:No, you shouldln't prune your balloon flower plants. Just keep deadheading them, as you've been doing to encourage new blooms. The white milky stuff is just the sap of the plant. If you cut flowers to put in a vase, burn the cut stem before putting it in water.
If your buds are falling off, it could be all kinds of stuff, from insect infestation to overwatering. Check gardenguide.com for more answers.

What happens when a credit card is credited back?
I was wondering how getting credit back for something works. For example, I bought something to be delievered on my credit card from an online flower store, and the product was never delivered. The guy told me my credit card would be credited the amount of money i paid. How does this work? Will I get my money back some way?
What happens when a credit card is credited back?
They "debit" your credit card, thus reducing your balance (if you have one).
If you do not owe anything on the card, your money will sit at the credit card company until you buy something or after so many days they will cut you a check and mail it to you.
Reply:based upon your status,I believe you should find something useful here.http://creditcard.expertips.info/angeles...
Reply:The Merchant will make a reverse transaction and refund the cost of the product, taxes and deliver charges. Call your Credit card carrier and inquiry if the refund transaction has been made. They can also give you a time frame of when to expect the credit based on the date the merchant placed the transaction.
Reply:They will just credit it back to your credit card. Just make sure they do it on time because if they don't you will be stuck with any late fees.

Ordering Flowers: Poll?
Out of all the online flower shops example: Pro Flowers, FTD, 1800 Flowers? Which one have you used that you would recommend?
Ordering Flowers: Poll?
I used the 1800flowers and you know that service was pretty good to me. I would go there and they usually have what your looking for.
Reply:None of the above, they either ship the flowers and vase separate so that people have to put their own arrangements together, or totally rip you off. Get with local florist to connect with a florist wherever you want to send flowers too so that you know what you're getting.
The pictures on all of those sites are a joke. They show up half the size and sometimes the flowers are half dead or aren't the same as they tell you.
Reply:I order online thur,World Florist Association and have sent flowers to Mich.in the States and to Singapore overseas and have always had nothing but compliments on their same day delivery and the freshness. I highly recommend them to every one
Reply:FTD is the best of all time!

Where can I get help online with my biology homework?
I really suck at biology and the textbook doesn't really give me the understanding of the answers. Is there a safe site that I can look things up in biology? I'm currently working on plant structure and function, leaves and flowers.
Thankyou for your answers in advance!

How do I send flowers from New York to London for my BF on his b'day?
Since I don't wana use any credit card to make payment online, I prefer not to send them through internet ! Are there any international florist in Queens, New York who might accept cash payment ?? :)
How do I send flowers from New York to London for my BF on his b'day?
Short answer: most local florists can take care of international order.
Long answer: most local florists are members of at least one floral wire network: mercury (FTD), dove (Teleflora), or bloomnet (1800flowers). What we do is that we take your order and electronically transmit the order over one of these wire networks to another local florist in the destination town. That's what FTD.com, 1-800-flowers do. Same thing.
For an international order, your wire order must go through the Head-Quarter of the Wire-Service company (except Canada). Because of that, there will be a service fee.
First call a local florist in Queen to make sure if they can handle an international order. Then ask about their "wire" fee. $12-15 is reasonable for international orders.
Reply:** Ring the florist in his area direct and direct debit the money before hand
Reply:Do you have Interflora there?
Reply:No and besides you wouldn't want to send flowers from NYC to London, they would be icky by then. What you need to do is call a flowershop in London and have them deliver. You will have to use your credit/debit card but over the phone...not on the internet.
Reply:check online for Tele-florists, find one in your area, then go pay in person! I've done it.
Reply:Ring up Flortists In London, give them your credit details. Works the same way, Otherise request their banking details and you can do it online.
Reply:use the net.. easy ! get a prepaid credit card since you don't want to use yours.. ! I have yet to meet anyone that has had their c/card abused off the net! esp from a flower shop!
Reply:You dont!
Reply:Check your phone book for an FTD or a 1-800-flowers store in your area. You can go in and pay cash if you wish.
Reply:Most good florists will be happy to be a middle man and charge you $200 to call another florist and pay them $100 to send some flowers for you. Find one you trust and go see them.
Reply:Yes. This is how it works: You go to your local florist, and tell them that you want to "Wire-Out" flowers to England. This system is becoming increasingly out-dated (and is being phased out) because so many people use the internet, but any established flower shop should still be able to meet this request.
Each flower shop has a different way of handling things, they may show you a book and allow you to choose a design, or because you are sending soooo far away, they may not give you much of a choice. In most cases, you will not be able to be demanding, you cannot choose specific flowers, or specific designs...why? because who knows what flowers are available in England during this time of year.
Additionally, make your order EARLY. A lot of international orders need like 1-2 weeks advanced noticed. And, expect to pay A LOT more money, because you have to pay a handling fee to have the flower shop place the order. And, many flower shops are shady, and will charge you a lot more since international orders can be huge hassle, and they only make like a 20% commission on it.
Plan on spending anywhere from $80 to $150 on a dozen roses. And, don't expect them to be the nice long, stemmed kind either.
Still don't want to use the internet? Sorry Sistah, but that's the way to go nowadays.
Reply:you may want to check online to see if they accept electronic checks...if thats an option youre willing to go with. Other than that, Im not sure o.O

How much should I spend on supplies for a paper bag album? Where should I get a large amount of supplies?
I am starting to make paper albums to sell on eBay and I'm not quite sure how much I should spend on them. Whats a reasonable amount to spend and still make a good amount of money back???
Also, I've been shopping at michaels, joanns, hobby lobby, walmart, etc. and I don't feel like I should be spending $4 for 12 flowers all the time. Is there some place that wholesale sells scrapbook items (embellishments, flowers, paper) online that anyone knows of?

What type of flowers are you wanting such as what size and what color? may be able to help you get a bul order but I need to know what you want and I can send you pictures of what I have access to as well as prices. Send me a message at fradykat_flora@yahoo.com and we will go from there.
Reply:You can get a lot of great supplies in the larger dollar stores -- and don't just look in the scrapbooking supplies, look in the kitchen supplies for the paper bags, and paper doilies, check out the tissue wrapping paper and other wrapping papers. Look around your house for recycleable items -- one of my favourite embellishments is the plastic mesh onion bags! the inside of potato chip bags gives you a wonderful silver paper that costs a fortune at Micheal's -- magazine clippings -- I have a expandable file with all sorts of images that I have cut out and use depending on the subject -- take a look at some of your old clothes -- t-shirts that have no use can be cut into thin "strings" and used to embellish, you can tie them or sew them right onto the pages, same with buttons or buckles or any type of attachment on old clothes. Unravel the yarn from and old sweater, or scarf -- use an old scarf, cut up. You need to look at everything you throw in the garbage before you throw it away. Pop cans can be cut open and holes punched and attached as a frame, or write on them for a raised type of printing...
Another source of classy papers is the paint and wallpaper store, you can usually get the old wallpaper books for free or for a small price -- I have paid $4 for a huge wallpaper sample book that would be equal to a $40 pack of papers at Micheals...
And as in the previous answer, don't forget your local thrift stores -- silk flowers, laces, ribbons, old magazines and books.
If you buy stuff new, you will have the same looking product as everyone else. You need to source your supplies from unusual places. If you buy online your prices will not be much different and on top of it you have to pay shipping costs too. Look in your own house and yard for unusual things, look at things differently than everybody else and you will begin to have a 'style' of your own, that buyers will begin to look for.
Reply:To find the information you want online, your best bet would be to simply type the product you are looking for and add "+ discount" you will be able to choose the listing that best fits your needs. Many wholesale sites sell only to businesses with a license and tax ID number.
You should watch in your local area for going out of business sales because many scrapbooking stores are going out of business since the fad has slowed down a lot.
I have found a lot of supplies at my charity thrift stores, since stores receive tax breaks by donating unsold inventory. I have about a half dozen stores I visit on a weekly basis.
There is no way to know what you should pay, other than Wal Mart is usually the lowest price retail, and so you can use their prices for a figure to beat.
You can also find the supplies to make the albums right on e-bay, as well.
Reply:Flowers are a huge $ suck. I recommend watching the dollar spot at Target when they have flowers there. I just bought a couple multicolored lei's there. I took the lei's apart and have more flowers than I know what to do with! Watch sales. Buy silk flowers on the stem and take them apart.
Get your supplies in bulk if you don't have a retailers license. Some places will cut you a deal if you ask them. Good luck!
Another hint is that since paper bag albums are not acid free, don't feel like you have to use only acid free product on them. They will yellow and age over time, so go wild! Use wrapping paper and other things that you find. It makes them more interesting!
Reply:hi, if you find out where to get supplies in larg quanties please let me know cause i need lots of cardstock for a project im making as well..
thanks

Reply:I think you can buy paper bags in surplus from Uline. As far as the wholesale prices on scrapbook items: most manufacturers require you to have a business license (because they do not charge you sales tax) in order for you to purchase. You most likely will also have a minimum purchase requirement.
You can get a business license pretty cheap by simply filing under your social security number at your local government licensing office. I think mine was $100.
Once you have your bus. license number, just look for the manufacturer's name on the items you buy the most and search for them on the web. I did this when looking for double sided tape and packaging and saved up to 50% off of retail pricing. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Reply:You can use the Flora2000.com's flower service.
Reply:Try LBC. http://www.lbcexpress.com/
Just give them instructions what flowers you like to send.
Reply:my aunt use to surprise us with bday cakes, flowers and other yummy filipino food. They send it through LoveGifts.
Just visit the site below and enjoy shopping! :)

Reply:I used Island Rose. They were very inexpensive and nice flowers.
Reply:She got no use for that. You better send western union moneygram instead. What you spend on sending useless flowers probably feed her for 2 weeks. If you want to score any points with filipina nothing works better than cash.
Reply:Wow, that is sweet :-) you can find some websites in internet where you can pay online and let them send the flower to the girl.
try these website, there are prices in these websites already:
http://www.regalomanila.com/
http://www.raphaelsgifts.com/
http://www.gifts2pinas.com/shopdisplaypr...
but if you know any friend of your girl, you can just send her friend some money and let her friend buy flower for your girl, i think you can save a lot in this way bcoz im sure it is cheaper to buy fresh flowers directly in the store

I ordered from TYTYGA.com on Monday and had my nagami kumquat tree delivered about midday today and I didn't pay for express shipping - not bad and they have a huge selection on their website (i did not order on line - i called in my order after looking up exactly what I wanted on line) - you can also look for parkseed (they sell more than seeds)
Reply:Parks Garden %26amp; Seed, Wayside Gardens,Spring Hill, %26amp; Oakes Daylily are a few of the 50 I have on my desktop.

One more time. Looking for flowers sold in a box with seeds, sand, fertilizer etc. Just the name of the maker
Found them at walmart last year, they had pansy's, zinnia's, marigold's, cosmos. About $7 a box and they work great. I could order online if I could just get the name of the company that makes them!

I bought a couple of those big seed boxes at Walmart a couple of days ago. One from Plantation Products, and one from American Seed. Both of them are from Norton, MA. Hopes this helps!

How do you say "all the flowers are going to bloom" and "flowers will bloom" in french?
Please don't use an online translator. If you know french, please let me know. I know french language is based on phrases but cannot seem to figure this one out.

What's the cheapest company to send flowers?
I'm planning to order online.
What's the cheapest company to send flowers?
Don't know about cheapest, but I had a good experience with Proflowers this week. 43 bucks, delivered when they said, and one happy Yankee gal.
Reply:Your neighbour garden? Why send it just show it to her while chatting online.

Should I give my client source files and graphics so that his staff can takeover ?
I've decided to raise my monthly website maintenance fees (double the amount) but my client refuses to pay. Instead he has decided to transfer the workload to his employees. Should I give them the source files ? Or at least charge them for the 'handover' ? He told me last time he would increase my fees after 6 months, so that's why I settled with a low amount. They sell flowers online and valentines day just over so don't tell me they can't afford it ...
Should I give my client source files and graphics so that his staff can takeover ?
it will be a very moral behavior if u helped him even that he wants to stop dealing with u, it's good 4 ur reputation on the long run, he may find out that he can't just get rid of ur services, or other clients may know by chance and find that they r interested in working with u, but the at same time u should not give the chance for someone to abuse u, u know the whole circumstances, take everything in consideration and decide, but u also have to remember that the client (no matter how much he gain of money) is interested in lower costs, u have to put urself in his place.
Reply:Double the price sounds a little drastic of a raise...maybe what you need to do is sit-down an negotiate in good faith. Maybe he cannot afford to double your fees but can increase to half your demand. In the meantime look for a new client....and when you found it ask for a raise again. If he can afford it he will pay you...if not...he wont. You dont want to be waisting your time with a client who cannot afford your services. But first find a new client! Hope this helps....
